Twelve printed certificates for transfer of land to David Magie: 3 issued from the United States General Land Office for land in Palmyra, Missouri, under "the Act of Congress of the 24th of April, 1820, titled 'An Act making further provision for the sale of the Public Lands'," signed by Martin Van Buren; 9 transferred from various military veterans who received land in Danville, Illinois, them under "the Act of Congress, approved September 28th 1850, titled 'An Act Granting Bounty Land to Certain Officers and Soldiers Who Have Been Engaged in the Military Service of the United States'," signed by Franklin Pierce.
